Chapter Four

Once at camp, Creek had bounded off to play with some others who were lingering at the edge of the camp watching Bubblepaw. Raven had stayed with her and walked her to Blossoms den.

And that's where she was now, wrapped in the warmness of Raven's fur, facing Blossom. She, by far, was the most beautiful she-cat she'd ever seen (apolgizes to Angelkit for saying she was. But that was before). Blossom had cherry blossom red fur with the same sleek, long look as Raven. Bubblepaw finally came to a conclusion that they were reliated.

Finally, after a few minutes, Blossoms voice drew Bubblepaw out of her thoughts. "So, Raven tells me you fell through the Sky Hole?"

Bubblepaw nodded.

"That hasn't happened in a long time..." She whispered to herself and, for a moment, her eyes clouded with worry but she soon recovered her calm, caring look. "Well, you're welcome to stay here." She said. "We'll get you back up to your home as soon as we can figure out how..." Again, the worry clouded her eyes for just a second.

"Raven, Bubblepaw may, uh, sleep in your den if it isn't too much trouble. The Fighters den is croweded enough as it is."

Raven nodded. "Yes mother. No problem. Come on Bubblepaw, I already got my Follower to make you a nest and bring you some food." He said and guided her out of the den whcih was actually the hollow drunk of beautiful willow tree.

Once at Raven's den, she sat down in her nest but didn't touch her food. The black tom didn't question her about the food.

"So, tell me about yourself." Raven said, his soft eyes looking at her. "Where are you from? Who's your parents?" He asked. "Any brothers or sisters?"

Bubblepaw nodded. "I'm from Shimmerclan and my mothers name is Leopardfoot. My father is Silvergaze. I have a sister called Brokenpaw. She's so much more...inteligent and pretty than I am, I look up to her. So, so much." She said, her voice trailing off.

Raven dipped his head for her to go on.

"I had a best friends back in Shimmerclan. Angelkit, and Juniperkit. Hey were really good friends." She mewed. "And that's about it..."

"Were you training under anyone?" Raven asked.

Bubblepaw assumed he meant mentors so she nodded. "Silentstep. He's such a nobel warrior. He's probably worried sick about me." She muttered.

Then, silence. Compleate silence for a few minutes then Raven finally spoke. "I can't imagine your sister being better than you." He said in a low voice. "You, other than my mother and mate, are the prettiest she-cat I've ever seen." He said.

Bubblepaw could feel herself blushing. Her nose was turning fire red. "T-thank you." She mewed, stumbleing over her words. "But...Where's your mate? Why isn't she in here with you?"

"Oh," Raven said while looking at his paws, "she died a few months ago. From a bad fever."

Bubblepaw regret even asking the question. "I'm sorry about that."

Raven shrugged. "I can't dwadle over these things. I'll move on, find another mate, have kits, live long, then die."

Bubblepaw looked down. Suddenly there was a yowl.

"Oh, time to go to sleep." He said, sitting down in her nest. "I'm sorry, I thought Creek made a nest for you. That's my nest but...It's okay. We can share one."

Chapter Three

Bubblepaw hit the ground with a hard thump. The sound echoed around her in a eerie way, making her shiver. She hesitantly stood up and looked around.

She was standing in a small cave with vines and grass hanging off of the sides which were covered with think layers of dirt. She looked up. Sunlight. Startled, she back up a little and ran straight into a furry object. Bubblepaw spun around to see a small gray tom cat looking up at her with big eyes.

"Who are you?" He squeaked.

"Uh..." Bubblepaw started. "I'm Bubblepaw. I feel down that hole." She mewed to the tom, signling up where the rays of sun reached through the hole. The gray tom gasped.

"You're from above? I've never met someone from above ground before!" He spoke at a rapid pace. "I'm Creek. I come from the tribe that own this territory." He continued. Creek's gaze darted around. "I snuck out of the Caring Den. I wanted to see what the outside looked like!"

Bubblepaw's mind spun with all the information being processed at once. She reviewed what happened while the young cat went on.

She'd fallen being Silentstep, looked around, found a hole, lost her footing, and fell, and fell, and fell. Until she hit the ground. Then this cat popped out of nowhere. Mind boggling.

A sharp yowl split into Bubblepaw's thoughts. "Creek! Oh, Creek, there you are!" The deep voice of a tom called. She looked up and saw the most handsome cat she'd ever seen. His fur was sleek, long black. He had a single feather attached to his tail and was wearing something around his neck made of pretty multi-colored stones. Bubblepaw stared at him.

Soon the tom noticed she was there and looked her over. "Who are you?" He asked in a calm voice.

"Bubblepaw. I fell from that hole up there..." She stammered.

The tom nodded then beckoned to her with his tail. "I'm Raven." He purred. "Come on, you look frightened. You may come with Creek and I back to our camp. Blossom will need to know we have a visitor." Raven said, still holding his tail straight out.

Bubblepaw walked over to Raven and he gently put his tail around her to block out the cold.

She was warm, but still shivered.

Chapter Two

"Bubblepaw. Bubblepaw wake up."

Bubblepaw woke up to the sound of her mentor, Silentstep, calling. She quickly sprang out of her nest and out of the small den. "Yes, Silentstep?" She asked, walking up to her mentor.

"Get something to eat with your sister. You'll need it, we're going to be out all day." He mewed, flicked his tail, and walked over to some of the other senior warriors.

Bubblepaw turned around and bounded torwards Brokenpaw, who as eating a rabbit. She passed Aquareed, the apprentice medicine cat, on the way. "Hello Aquareed." She said nicely. "Oh, hi Bubblepaw!" She smiled then looked at Silentstep watching them. "You better go eat. Silentstep is watching." She laughed as Bubblepaw whipped out and then looked back, her nose turning red. "Thanks for telling me Aquareed." She mewed and said a curt goodbye. Bubblepaw pranced over to her sister but Brokenpaw got up. "Treetail calls." She says. "See you later." Her sister purrs.

Bubblepaw frowned, sad her sister wouldn't be training with her but the sadness passed quickly as she finally finished the vole she'd chose. Just then, Silentstep walked up. "Let's go." He said.

Her mentor raced out of the camp entrance and Bubblepaw struggled to catch up to him. Soon she lost sight of him compleately. "S..Silentstep?" She mewed, but no answer. He was gone.

Bubblepaw flattened her ears and started stalking around, sniffing at trees. She saw a strange clump of ferns near the base of a big cherry blossom tree and walked over.

She carefully moved it, uncovering a hole. "Hmm?" She muttered to herself and looked down in it, holding herself to the ground with her hindclaws. Suddenly, a loud noise sounded above Bubblepaw, causing her to loes her grip.

She yowled, "Silentstep!" Despritley before falling into compleate darkness.

Chapter One

"Bubblekit! Sit still! Now!" Bubblekit's mother, Leopardfoot said sterly. Bubblekit sat down next to her sister Brokenkit, hardly able to contain a squeal of excitment.

Then, the meeting call rang out. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather under Shimmering Rock for a clan meeting!" Ghoststar yowled.

Bubblekit jumped out of the nursery behind her mother and her sister. She sat just beside the rock, watching the three apprentices, soon to be warriors, walk up.

In the distance Bubblekit could hear Juniperkit and Rainkit whining, "it's not fair that they get to be apprentices!" They were saying. Rosedapple quickly

"Tigerpaw and Ripplepaw, please step up!" Ghoststar called. "I trust you all know everything about the warrior code by now....You may become warriors." She told them. "Tigerpaw, you will be Tigerfang. Ripplepaw, you will be Rippleheart. I honor you both for your loyality and courage.." Ghoststar finished then beckoned Bubblekit and Brokenkit up to the rock. "Bubblekit, you shall be Bubblepaw and Silentstep will mentor you. Brokenkit, you'll be Brokenpaw and Treetail will mentor you." The leader smiled.

"Tigerfang! Rippleheart! Bubblepaw! Brokenpaw!" The clan called out as the tow new apprentices walked up to their mentors. "Get sleep..." Silentstep said sternly then walked away, Treetail following him.

Bubblepaw and Brokenpaw went into the apprentices den, picked a nest, and fell asleep.

Jacklepaw looked around, stunned by the beauty of the Shimmer Stone. Jupiterheart watched him, amused. "Tear your eyes off the rock, Jacklepaw, we must greet the other Medicine Cats behind the ivy bush." She mewed to her apprentice. Jupiterheart walked behind the bush with Jacklepaw behind her. Once they were in the small meeting cave, she saw the glimmer of eyes. "I'm here," Jupiterheart called out, assureing the others it was okay to come out of their dank, dirty hiding places. "Jacklepaw this," she gestured towards a small white she-cat and a ginger she-cat, "is Wintertree and Summergaze, medicine cats of Frozenclan. That," Jupiterheart flicked her tail to a pair of cats and one lone tom, "that's Angelwing and Skullpaw of Iceclan. And then the black tom you see next to them is Eaglesong of Snowclan." She finished.

Wintertree and Summergaze nodded and smiled at Jacklepaw in greeting. Angelwing smiled then continued to look around. Eaglesong just flicked his tail. Skullpaw, though, padded up to Jacklepaw and licked his sholder. "I'm glad to see there's a new apprentice." The white and black tom said then stepped back beside Angelwing. After the greetings, Eaglesong jumped up. "Let's go, we don't have all night." He mumbled. Jacklepaw got up and walked beside Skullpaw and Jupiterheart, staying as far away from the grumpy tom as he could. Jupiterheart's whiskers twitched in amusment but she said nothing, knowing Eaglesong's temper would fire off at any sarcastic comment.

Once they were at the Shimmer Stone, Jupiterheart ordered Jacklepaw to lie down and touch his nose to the rock. He did. Everyone else was already asleep, so Jupiterheart touched her nose to the cold, brightly colored rock also. Her mind instantly swirled with colors dragging her into Starclan's mystic world.

Jupiterheart jerked her eyes open, only to see darkness and the shape of a tabby cat. "Dawnstar?" She asked in a raspy voice. "Is that you?"

Dawnstar nodded. "Jupiterheart." He said. "Ah, times are good in the clans. Prey is plentyful, warriors are happy, kits are healthy..." He trailed off and Jupiterheart waited nervously. "But, sorry to say, times won't always be so nice. Never are, I'm afraide." He mewed, looking up. "Times are about to get confusing. New and strange things are going to happen. Starclan can do nothing to help..." He paused. "One cat alone will open up a whole new mindset for everyone. A underground mystery that's been covered up for seasons will be uncovered for the first time." Dawnstar bowed his head, then everything went dark. The ground fell out from under Jupiterheart's paws and she tumbles into reality.
